System Card Functionality

Summarizes functionality differences between the card types

Your system uses four employee card types. Each card unlocks different features on the Charger (check-in station) and the tap screens. Use this guide to pick the right card for each person on your team.

Staff Cards

Best for: Bartenders, servers, and check-in staff.

At the Charger, staff cards let you:

  • Create customer cards
  • Balance cards
  • Add value to cards
  • Reactivate cards
  • Restart the Charger
  • View device status

At the tap screens, staff cards let you:

  • Set keg levels
  • Add value to cards
  • Reactivate cards
  • Restart the screen
  • View device status

Staff cards don't let you: create employee cards, erase cards, change card passwords, power off devices, change settings, or reset devices to factory settings.

Manager Cards

Best for: Shift leads and general managers.

At the Charger, manager cards let you do everything a staff card does, plus:

  • Create cleaning, staff, and manager cards
  • Erase cards
  • Change card passwords
  • Select the server
  • Select the printer
  • Power off the Charger

At the tap screens, manager cards let you do everything a staff card does, plus:

  • Power off the screen
  • Select the server
  • Change the product on a tap
  • Select the background
  • Select the fill level style

Manager cards don't let you: create admin or install cards, change network settings, change valve settings or the number of lines, configure binary inputs, change screen configuration, or reset devices to factory settings.

Admin Cards

Best for: Owners and the person responsible for system setup.

At the Charger, admin cards let you do everything a manager card does, plus:

  • Create admin cards
  • Change network configuration
  • Reset the Charger to factory settings

At the tap screens, admin cards let you do everything a manager card does except pour fill-ups, plus:

  • Configure valves, including valve settings and number of lines
  • Configure binary inputs
  • Change network configuration
  • Change screen configuration
  • Reset the screen to factory settings

Admin cards are able to do anything!

Cleaning Cards

Best for: Your draft line cleaning company or the staff member who cleans lines.

Cleaning cards open the valves without charging any account. Use one cleaning card for each screen you clean at the same time.

To create a cleaning card:

  1. Log in to the Charger with a manager or admin card.
  2. Select Create Cleaning Card.
  3. Enter a name for the card. Use the name of your line cleaning company.
  4. Place the new card on the card reader. A green checkmark shows when the card is ready.

Keep cleaning cards secure. Store them with your staff or with your cleaning company. Cleaning cards pour without charging, so treat them like a key to the taps.

View cleaning activity in the reports on your web portal. If you run short on cleaning cards, turn on Open Pour in your server configuration settings instead. For cleaning steps and schedules, see Cleaning Lines.
