Sometimes the screen will respond to touches but not to RFID cards. This is usually due to the reader becoming unplugged or damaged.
1) Check that RFID reader is plugged in properly.
- Remove the screen from the wall
- Small 1.5mm (1/16 will work, but is a risk of stripping) grub screws located on the top/bottom or left/right edges of the screen must be loosened a few turns.
- If your screen is a X5 (silver frame around the glass) then you will need to also unscrew the screen frame from the wall.
- Small 1.5mm (1/16 will work, but is a risk of stripping) grub screws located on the top/bottom or left/right edges of the screen must be loosened a few turns.
- Remove the gray metal protective box from the back of the screen by taking the 3 small nuts off the back.
- Unplug the power connector/s at the top left corner of the top computer board.
- The power connectors use Black and Red wires. If you have 2 sets, unplug both.
- Unplug the RFID reader ribbon cable.
- The wire will be gray and usually has a small red or blue stripe on one side.
- Plug the the reader back in
- Ensuring the red or blue stripe is closest to the "1" printed on the bottom right corner of the computer board.
- Plug the power connector/s back in.
- Test the reader is operational.
- If not, please contact PMB support so we can send a replacement.
- Reinstall beerwall screen.
2) Replace the RFID reader (detached readers only)
- Remove the screen from the wall
- Small 1.5mm (1/16 will work, but is a risk of stripping) grub screws located on the top/bottom or left/right edges of the screen must be loosened a few turns.
- If your screen is a X5 (silver frame around the glass) then you will need to also unscrew the screen frame from the wall.
- Small 1.5mm (1/16 will work, but is a risk of stripping) grub screws located on the top/bottom or left/right edges of the screen must be loosened a few turns.
- Remove the gray metal protective box from the back of the screen by taking the 3 small nuts off the back.
- Unplug the power connector/s at the top left corner of the top computer board.

- Unplug the RFID reader ribbon cable.

- Remove the RFID front cover
- Small 1.5mm (1/16 will work, but is a risk of stripping) grub screws located on the top/bottom edges of the RFID housing must be loosened a few turns.
- Pull the front RFID housing cover toward you to remove.
- Feed the old reader wire out
- Feed the new reader wire in and run to the beerwall screen
- Reinstall RFID housing cover.
- Plug the the reader back in
- Ensuring the red or blue stripe is closest to the "1" printed on the bottom right corner of the computer board.
- Plug the power connector/s back in.
- Test the reader is operational.
- Reinstall beerwall screen.
